Skills and Equipment - wig skills, prosthetics, make up and photography.

Communication skills is a huge part of managing a project along with organisation. I have kept this a priority throughout and tried to be as organised as possible. I have booked in the dummy run for the final image in February, purchased all the wigs and  accessories, made the prosthetics apart from the skull. The costumes have been finalised and just need accessories attached. 

Skills and Equipment Tables above and below show skills required to complete the four images for the Major Project and to carry forward onto my new career

Wig Templating - this is for the first image and the template for my model which the full head wig will be made, this process will take me about four months so chop chop as they say.

Prosthetic moulds - above is the final stage of the starfish moulds that I made, they are now ready so I can make the prosthetics to then be painted ready for the final photo.

Clay Sculpting for prosthetics, the skull above is an attempt at making a skull - the above sculpture needs some adapting as at the moment it looks a bit like Wallace and Gromit teeth, this will be rectified though and perfected before it is moulded.

Wig Making - above is a picture of my first attempt at whip stitching, this honestly took me longer than I wish to admit, however practice makes perfect and I will be practicing non-stop to quicken up the process. This is the start of my wig making process which will take me around four months.

Photography - skills are what I am learning, this unit includes the lighting, poses, make up skills for photography. I love photography and I am learning quickly on what works and how to edit pictures, this is also something I would like to carry forward with my career.

Make Up - skills are essential to all the up coming images for the major project. I have had a couple of years doing make up now for assessments, TV productions, theatre productions and more. The four images will all have make up wigs and prosthetics for some in which I will design, apply and style for each image.
