Week 1
Travelled down from Edinburgh to York, set off at 5.30am by car and made it on time for our University Centre introduction, had a cup of tea in hand and danish.
Got whisked away for our first lesson in Business and was introduced to everyone, anxiety slightly high as been so used to our familiar surroundings of Edinburgh College, but after a few hours it was all good.
First day over and the hostel bed is calling me as hardly slept from worrying of over sleeping, pretty sure I slept for 12 hours. Day 2 much better as feeling more alive and ready to study for my BA (hons)
Week 2
I really enjoyed my first photography session, the only set back was I only had 20 mins to do a full face of makeup up so felt I didn’t do the best job I could have done on my model which I was not my initial plan.
The make up was still nice though as I had a lovely model (Fran).
In regard to the photography session, I asked my model to sit on the stool facing forward with the lighting to the right of her face, I was shown how to hold the camera and focus etc.
I fired off a couple of pictures using different angles and asking my model to move slightly each time. My model was very photogenic and took a lovely picture. I’ve not seen the final results yet but excited to see them and edit.
The pictures I liked for comparison were more moody and the lighting darker, so I will be able to compare when I see the final pictures.

Week 3
This week we continued with Business and Ethic FormsWe was shown how to make a bald cap from scratch and I made a prosthetic hand too.Using Algenate instead of silicone casting it was a good practice run on how to cast a body part and experiment with silicon and deadner to get the ratios right and also colour pigment. Final product shown in picture and I must say apart from the two finger tips it was a job well done (this is why we practice to finesse the final product) I must say when I bought it home my kids (7 & 9 yrs) absolutely loved it but didn't use it as the peace sign - they did have a little giggle which made me laugh.

Week 4
Business, Photography and ProstheticsThis week we continued with business which included charisma and how this is a power skill to learn within the workplace especially at a managerial and leader level.Photography we was shown Black & White pictures and how they show the pros and cons for different settings and lighting etc. We practiced with natural light exposure.Lastly I stared on my prosthetics for my project, these are going to be the more detailed of the lot so starting these first is a must. Wig Templating next week - watch this space!!!

Week 5
Here is my first picture for my B&W theme, I used flowers for my inspiration, The make up side of things was heavy blue eye shadow and eyeliner, black lipstick and flawless skin. Im very pleased with my final chosen picture. Not bad for my first photoshoot. The model is my beautiful friend and fellow MUA Charlie.

Week 6 - Holiday I the Norfolk Broads
Week 7 -
Started to make the skull for my Raven Image, this will be the base of the Raven being sculpted by Stefan (metal work) in the Arts department as part of my collaboration - fingers crossed I do it justice.

The last few weeks before the Xmas break, I have produced five black and white photography images, sculpted starfish and marine animals for the final image, made these into synthetic moulds ready for making the prosthetics and painting them. I have started a crochet wig, templated and started the wig process for the first image. Purchased all the wigs, accessories and extras needed for the major project. This has been a busy and exciting time to get everything ready to start on the four images.
